Blog: Wiki So Far For our class wiki, I contributed in two different ways: First, I created a few new pages: The influence of the use in social media on sleeping habits and how social networking enhances tourism. I was explaining about these subjects and added photos to help the readers to engage with the information that is presented to them. In addition, I have edited the mental health page. I have added some statistics from a recent study that has taken place and imply how social media has a direct impact on teenagers' mental health.

Privacy The increase in the popularity of new media turned information and data to be extremely accessible and therefore has brought many challenges with it related to privacy and confidentiality. The more the usage in social media increases and more information is being sent through internet platforms and databases, the more our information is exposed and our privacy is being affected. So many people have private content on their laptop or content that they share with certain people and they don't want to share it with the world. The truth is, that whatever is being sent out there through the internet can be hacked and used by others. In addition, so many companies and social platforms are using our information when we are not even aware of it. Facebook, for example, has these huge databases of their user's information and by selling it to other companies they make a profit, and that's why this app is free. Advice There are so many ways new media can be used to improve Baruch college. I think that the first thing I would suggest would be a social media platform for Baruch students in the presence and in the past. People could make social connections even before they start going to school. Maybe also create pages for each class (like specific facebook pages) so people could communicate there with people from their classes, share content and discuss with people outside of the classroom. I would also create a better Instagram account for Baruch college and share photos from school activities and sports games, and also share instant content on Instagram stories like announcements, videos and more. I think that Baruch is not known enough and doesn't do enough advertising to this amazing school. I would post more information on the school , the great return student gets for their money, and the simple registration process all over social media- on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
