HW Creativity


New media enables people to express themselves in many different ways and helps them to foster their creativity. New media fosters creativity by enabling people to share the things they are creating like music, videos, blog content, fashion, articles, etc and this content is exposed to many people so that they could give instant feedback on one another's work. It also links people from the same industries so they can get inspiration from one another and maybe to collaborate. For example, in the article "Disney Tolerates a Rap Parody of Its Critters. But Why? " where people can create those mash-ups videos and be creative and share this content with so many other people. New media enables people to turn their imagination into reality. It is also very accessible so anyone could be creative anywhere and anytime and create content and share it with the world.

Blog v Wiki

Blogs are generally more subjective and are written from the authors perspective. The content that is usually shared on it is personal, verses Wikis that are a more formal version of a blog where everyone can edit it and add content to it. Therefore, both the information we get from Blogs and from Wikis is subjective and we don't know how reliable it is. These days Wikis can be more relevant because the information we have on almost any subject in the world is constantly changing and being able to edit that information helps keep it updated and relevant, for example- Wikipedia.  It is easy to collaborate with other people both using blogs and wikis because people can get involved, comment on posts, and contribute to the content.
