Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

Virtual reality has become an integral and significant part of our lives in recent years.
As we can see from the CNN article "going to the virtual office on second life" it used for enabling business meetings using the virtual world. This way of meeting is providing extra security and helping companies to save all the travel expenses they would've spent on a face to face meeting. We know that more than 1400 organizations including educational institutions, companies, government agencies, the Us military are using the second life for meetings, training, and applying new technologies. The cons of the virtual reality in this context is that virtual teams may not share the same national and organizational culture.
In addition, the lack of human interaction can lead to a feeling of isolation.
We can also learn from the article "'naughty auties' battle autism with virtual interaction that people with disabilities like autism can use the virtual space in order to create a comfort zone for them and to enable them to communicate with others. It is also very convenient as this kind of interaction can be made from one's own comfort in his space.
Another use for virtual reality is for studying purposes, it makes the studying experience more interesting and visual. It can be used for virtual tours around the world, for example, that can be very interesting for the students and also save the traveling expenses.
The virtual world fosters creativity by exposing people to new places, cultures, foods, and inspiring them.
I think that future virtual worlds will be more advanced and realistic in a way that we won't be able to tell the difference between the real one and the virtual one. I feel like this fast growth in innovation will lead to negative consequences because people will get too into it and will forget how to interact with people in the real world.
