Creativity and New Media For this assignment, I chose to create my own "bitmoji" character.  In order to create a "bitmoji" character all you need to do is to download the bitmoji app and to take a selfie. The process of creating it is very simple and takes only a few seconds. There are many customization options on this app so you could create a bitmoji that looks exactly like you. The customization options are: to select a skin tone, select a hairstyle and color, size and shape of your face, eye color, eyebrows shape and color, eyelashes, and even forehead lines so it will look as real as possible. The final stage of creating your bitmoji is to upgrade it with some makeup if you want to. In addition, there is a lot of outfits you can choose from. There are so many different characteristics and options on this app so you could find the exact one that fits your look and make it real as possible. I really like this app and find it very enjoyable to play with it ...
HW Creativity New media enables people to express themselves in many different ways and helps them to foster their creativity. New media fosters creativity by enabling people to share the things they are creating like music, videos, blog content, fashion, articles, etc and this content is exposed to many people so that they could give instant feedback on one another's work. It also links people from the same industries so they can get inspiration from one another and maybe to collaborate. For example, in the article "Disney Tolerates a Rap Parody of Its Critters. But Why? " where people can create those mash-ups videos and be creative and share this content with so many other people. New media enables people to turn their imagination into reality. It is also very accessible so anyone could be creative anywhere and anytime and create content and share it with the world. Barnes, Brooks. “Disney Tolerates a Rap Parody of Its Critters. But Why?”  The New York Times ,...
Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds Virtual reality has become an integral and significant part of our lives in recent years. As we can see from the CNN article "going to the virtual office on second life"  it used for enabling business meetings using the virtual world. This way of meeting is providing extra security and helping companies to save all the travel expenses they would've spent on a face to face meeting. We know that more than 1400 organizations including educational institutions, companies, government agencies, the Us military are using the second life for meetings, training, and applying new technologies. The cons of the virtual reality in this context is that virtual teams may not share the same national and organizational culture. In addition, the lack of human interaction can lead to a feeling of isolation. We can also learn from the article "'naughty auties' battle autism with virtual interaction that people with disabilities like ...
Blog about Twitter The recent discussion on Twitter our class had was the first one I had on Twitter and I found it very interesting that we all had to use the hashtag #CIS3810NET1 as I never used it before. After I clicked on that hashtag I was able to read everyone's posts related to the same topic and I think that's a great feature. I think that the fact that there is a limitation to 250 words in every post is not so great as in blackboard discussions there is no limitation. I did like the fact that we could retweet to each other and I felt like it was a more instant discussion in comparing to a discussion on the blackboard. In-class discussion is completely different than the first two because it enables to engage with each other instantly and in person. I also feel that personal communication is the best way to communicate because you can get a lot of people's thoughts and feelings from their body language and the way they choose to express themselves verbally. ...
Blog: Social networking sites For this post, I chose to compare the following four platforms as I think they are the most popular: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. The common between all the above is that they are meant to enable people to communicate instantly and to allow them to meet new people easily or to connect with people they already know and share content with them.  Facebook is the platform I use the most because it was the first one I had and I am used to it. Facebook has an option called "people you may know" so it enables people to connect with their friends. It also has a messenger- an instant chat that enables us to communicate with people through text and share content. Facebook also enable us to keep up with our friend's lives through their wall, they can share pictures, videos and posts there on a daily basis. Instagram is the second most used social media platform by me. I feel like Instagram is meant for sharing mostly pictures...
Blog social networking  Social media enables every person to share content with billions of potential viewers and the power and the potential of it is huge. The ability to spread information has become so much easier since social media's development. This is one of the major benefits of social media. In recent years, people have built a career and making a lot of money through social media only. The enormous amounts of content that is available online can sometimes be overwhelming. Since everything is so easy to spread, there is a lot of information online and in order to sell or for your content to be viewed the most you need to make your content remarkable. With that being said, social media also has another side, which is less pleasant. For example, we can learn from Randi Zuckerberg's case, when someone shared a picture she shared on Facebook to another social media platform. It is hard to stay private these days and Randi's claim, in this case, was that she wante...
